The Intoxilyzer S-D5 handheld breath alcohol screener features a fuel cell that is unaffected by acetone, paint and glue fumes, foods, confectins, methane and other substances found on human breath. Sampling is automatic after the subject provides 1.5 liters of breath. A manual sampling feature is also provided. The result of the last test is saved and can be recalled until the next test starts. Its response time is within 5 seconds of sampling, depending on alcohol concentration. The unit features a large three-digit LED. The CMI Inc. tester is just 2.5 inches wide by 4.75 inches high by 1.25 inches deep. It uses two AAA batteries and comes with a one-year warranty on parts and labor.
